Visa Cancellation

Visa Cancellation

Canceling a UAE residency visa is a straightforward process, as long as the visa holders are not obligated by specific laws to stay in the country. To facilitate the visa cancellation process, individuals are advised to settle all outstanding debts, utility bills, terminate tenancy contracts, and liquidate assets such as properties and vehicles.

It’s important to note that expatriates cannot personally initiate the visa cancellation process; only the sponsors of their visa have the authority to cancel their residence visa. However, individuals holding an investor visa can independently request visa cancellation.

When it comes to employment visas, employers have specific obligations to fulfill before initiating visa cancellation with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE). They must settle any pending salary, leave salary entitlements, and gratuity. Additionally, they are required to provide an air ticket to the departing employee.
