Renewing Family Visa (Resident Sponsor) Dubai

In the UAE, sponsors are required to renew their family residence visas before they expire. There is a grace period of 30 days to stay in the UAE after the visa’s expiry, and it must be renewed before the end of that period to avoid fines. In some cases, special permission from the GDRFA authorities may be needed to renew the visa earlier than six months before its expiry.

For Sponsors:

The sponsor must hold a valid residency permit.
A minimum salary of Dhs4,000 or Dhs3,500 plus company accommodation is required for the sponsor to renew the dependents’ visas.

For Employees (Sponsored Individuals):

Individuals above 18 years old require an approved medical test report.
To renew the residence visa, individuals must first renew their Emirates ID.
Basic health insurance coverage is mandatory in Dubai, and family members must have at least basic health insurance.

- 1. Sponsor’s Emirates ID (Original).
  2. Sponsor’s passport and residence visa page (with a minimum validity of 6 months).
  3. For partner/investor visa holders, the following documents are required: Company, Trade License Copy, and MOA (Memorandum of Association).
  4. Valid Salary Certificate (for Government/Semi-government/Free zone employees).
  5. Valid Labor Contract (issued by MOHRE) if the sponsor works in the Private Sector.
  6. Registered Tenancy Contract/Ejari or Title Deed photocopy.
  7. Recent Electricity Bill (for houses owned by the sponsor, not rented).
  8. Passport Copies (in color) of Sponsored individuals (with at least a minimum 6 months’ validity) and one recent studio-type photograph with a white background.
  9. Medical test result.
  10. Insurance Card/Certificate for each sponsored individual.
  11. Sponsor’s Account IBAN Number.
